Chef Julian Marshall, of the critically-acclaimed Bleeding Heart restaurant, has prepared a variety of set menus for its private dining clients, showcasing the superb French cuisine for which the restaurant is renowned. Described as one of London’s “most magical” party venues, The Crypt (120 seated, 200 standing) boasts a fascinating history. This is a magical venue for a special banquet, with its thick stone walls, its stained glass windows and heavy blackened beams. In an atmosphere redolent of times gone by, the Crypt provides a unique combination of truly historic ambience with superb food, impeccable service, and one of the finest wine lists in the City.
The Crypt has hosted some of London's most celebrated functions- including a grand feast for Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon in 1531. They dined, it is reported, on swans stuffed with larks stuffed with sparrows. While Bleeding Heart cannot promise Tudor-style dishes for your feast, they can offer a selection of menus to tempt the most jaded palates, and to suit most budgets. Overlooking the cobbles of historic Bleeding Heart Yard, The Terrace Room (44 seated) offers a gastronomic menu to accompany an award-winning wine list of 450 bottles. A cosy and cosseting space, The Red Room (28-40 seated) is a sultry red-walled room with a plush winery atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy a gastronomic menu, accompanied by the Bleeding Heart wine list compiling 450 bottles. The Parlour (10-16 seated) is a charming and intimate Victorian dining room, ideal for a cosy dinner, while The Tavern & No 1 Bleeding Heart Yard (45-63 seated, 75 standing) is warm and rustic, serving hearty, locally sourced Anglo-Saxon fare.
