Holding a Civil License for weddings and partnership ceremonies, The Burke & Hare (28 seated, 40 standing) features a double height ceiling, and a mural depicting a scene of Burke & Hare on a journey to the then Medical Research Building, where the hotel now stands. The original artwork which adorns the walls, tells the history of the building. Large wooden tables and tall leather chairs make this room a comfortable dining experience, and the sumptuous private dining menus will ensure a meal to remember within stunning surroundings. A room hire fee of £250 applies to this room, along with a minimum spend of £1500 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Burke & Hare
A cosy dining room perfect for up to 10 guests, The Bedlam (10 seated, 12 standing) features the original domed ceiling as its focal point, and natural daylight from the courtyard doors make an elegant setting for both formal and informal gatherings. Suitable for small private parties, may it be breakfast meetings, birthday celebrations or even a day meeting, the room comes with a large round table, and tall backed leather chairs. The Bedlam also offers direct access to the outdoor courtyard. A room hire fee of £150 applies to this room, along with a minimum spend of £650 on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Chef’s Table (8 seated, 8 standing) is a cosy dining room, perfect for up to 8 guests. The room is located off the main bistro, and has a viewing window into the kitchen where the chefs are hard at work in a live kitchen setting. This is a perfect room for a more informal gathering, or indeed for a more formal food and wine tasting menu. A room hire fee of £100 applies to this room.
The Laroche Tasting Room (12 standing) is an ideal venue for a private wine tasting. Located on the 1st floor beside the beautiful bar, the Laroche tasting room overlooks the elegant, French inspired bistro. Your wine tasting is hosted by an expert sommelier, who guides you around the world of wines, and you will be sure to go away with some new knowledge and understanding of wines suited to you. Laroche Tasting Room
Filled with couches and armchairs, a glass enclosed gas fire, cigar humidor and whisky case with over 200 bottles of whisky, The Whisky Snug (20 seated, 20 standing) is a beautiful, timeless room located on the ground floor of the hotel. Perfect for afternoon tea, drink and canapé events, this room has access to the main courtyard and Cigar Bothy.
